Career Summary

Tim is an experienced HRD and Fellow of the CIPD, whose work has been recognised by a number of Awards including Overall Winner of the CIPD Awards and Top 10 UK and Top 20 Europe Great Place to Work. He has 20 years’ leadership experience, directing business transformation (double-digit growth, mergers, acquisitions & IPO) in global organisations across premium & lifestyle brands, FMCG and retail.
Most recently since 2010, as Global HR Director of Pentland Brands, he has led global people strategy across a portfolio of lifestyle and performance brands (including Canterbury, Speedo, Berghaus, Mitre, ellesse, Lacoste & Ted Baker).

He lived and worked in Asia-Pacific for 5 years, leading generalist HR within spirits & wines portfolio JV Maxxium. On returning to the UK, Tim joined Diesel as UK & Eire HR Director, prior to moving to Pentland. He has also worked for Waterstone’s, and began his career as a Grad with M&S.
An MA in Drama from Lancaster University, while not leading to the Hollywood career he might have imagined, ensures an energetic and engaging experience for the audience at every event Tim speaks at.
Tim founded Starboard Thinking in 2015 in order to be able to work with Executive teams on strategic development and delivery by enhancing organisations’ culture, leadership and engagement.
